Kaleidoscope Wallpaper collection

Designer: De Joode

De Joode is a photographer. She mainly works as a fashion-photographer and is, besides that, working in autonomous photography and styling. In her work she wants to show more than the common “Strike the Pose” fashion shoot, she wants to use the collective memory of her generation and finds inspiration in everyday life. She makes her models act, like in a surrealistic, absurd play, without neglecting the glamour and symbolism of fashion photography.
De Joode is the ‘chef de cuisine’ of ‘sugaring & mixing’, folding & frosting’, ‘glazing & seasoning’. De Joode’s starting point for designing wallpaper was a conceptual one. She wanted to systematically brand herself by reproducing her art and photography. This profound vision led her to design wallpapers out of her own photo-collages. De Joode invented her own way to cover entire walls with her work, full of charming, rhythmic patterns.
These wallpapers turned out to be the perfect combination of fashion, interior design, art and photography. Wallpaper is a very powerful product which has an enormous effect on the atmosphere of an interior. De Joode is deeply inspired by historical wallpaper designs of the Jugendstill and Baroque.
